Cleckheaton Circuit, baptisms::
 
The following entries were found in a Register deposisted at West Yorkshire Archive Service in Wakefield and found on Ancestry in the Non-Conformist Registers ref WC32. The Register is headed "Baptisms in the Wesleyan Methodist Chapels in the Cleckheaton Circuit". The Register begins in 1837. In the date column some of the Baptisms clearly state the place where they were performed, others simply have a date. We have extracted the Baptisms where the parents abode was given as being in the Wyke area. These cover the period 1840 to 1850. The Wesleyan Methodist Church building at Wyke was opened in 1871 and before that time we are told they met in members houses, so the baptisms may have been conducted there. Baptisms between 1850 and 1870 have not been located yet, but they may be in Registers relating to a circuit other than Cleckheaton.
