RECORD OF PEW-HOLDERS IN WIBSEY CHAPEL,
1754.
The original is in Bradford Archives Ref BDP66/6/3/3
Numbers in brackets indicate number of seats allocated
The following notes come from the late Mrs Constance Myers who studied the records at the church before they were deposited with the Archives.
“This list corresponds with a plan of the old church before the alterations were made in 1836, and makes it easy to find the positions of the pulpit and font.
There was a block of a double row of eight box pews, seating six persons each in the centre, an aisle at each side, and one row of fourteen box pews along each side wall.
The pulpit was in half the front pew in the centre block on the north side and the font was in half the last pew in the centre block on the south side.”
